Why Bali SBK Could Be Your Top Choice
If your child is currently training twice a week or more, loves the game, shows up, and gives it everything, you should consider Bali SBK. You may already have seen that they’re ready for more and are perhaps wondering what “more” looks like.
Our professional-level soccer academy is just 3–8 hours from Australian and New Zealand cities. With us, your child can train up to ten times a week, study through an NCAA-recognised online curriculum, and live in a community that treats them like family, all while you enjoy a Bali holiday (or head home knowing they’re in good hands).
Here’s why families from across the ditch are choosing Bali SBK.
The Training Difference
Most junior players in Australia and New Zealand get two or three sessions a week. At Bali SBK, they train ten times a week. And that’s before friendly matches, performance coaching, and recovery sessions.
Head Coach Brandon McDonald says the difference is visible: “The speed of progress explodes when they go from training twice a week to ten times a week.”
Sessions are led by Brandon and his team of professional and ex-professional football players, in professional-grade facilities set between rice fields and the beach. Two daily sessions cover technical work, tactical development, and match preparation.
Academics That Travel With You
Through our partnership with Laurel Springs, your child follows a Cambridge-based curriculum that’s recognised by the NCAA. They pick up exactly where they left off at their current school. Tutors tailor the programme to each student, and the academic schedule is built around training.
As Irmak, mother of SBK player Vadis, says: “With the collaboration with Laurel Springs, balancing academics and athletics has been good – this system works for us.”
At Bali SBK, we don’t let players fall behind. They do not need to choose between school and sport. We believe both are integral parts of developing a young person and player.
Intake That Fits Your Calendar
Australian and New Zealand school years start in late January or early February. We have a February intake specifically designed for Southern Hemisphere families, so your child can transition without disruption.
We also accept mid-year starts and short stays of one week to two months. Whether you’re exploring a gap term, a school holiday intensive, or a full-time move, we adapt to your family’s needs.
“It’s a special offering that not many places around the world offer,” says Coach Brandon.
What a Short Stay Looks Like
Your child joins the squad, trains alongside full-time academy players, and experiences the complete SBK programme: coaching, facilities, recovery, meals, and community.
Meanwhile, parents can enjoy everything Bali has to offer. Our local community has hosted visiting families from day one. We love to share meals, show you around, and make sure everyone feels at home.
Logan, a visiting player from New Zealand, joined SBK for a short stay and went on to compete in an international tournament in Singapore. His takeaway? “With Bali SBK, I have learned how to play fast.”
Three Pathways From Here
After time at Bali SBK, your child has clear options:
– ⚽ MLS & MLS NEXT Pro — Professional trials and reserve team pathways (We’ve just had a player selected for a trial with the San Jose Earthquakes.)
– 🎓 US College Scholarship — Academic and athletic readiness for NCAA Division I, II, III opportunities
– 🇩🇪 European / Bundesliga — German boarding school pathway with weekend trials against Bayern Munich and Dortmund academies
Same coaching. Same foundation. Different destinations.
