A Milestone for Manu and Bali SBK
We are incredibly proud to announce that Manu, one of our longest-serving academy players, has been selected to travel to the United States this summer to train with MLS club San Jose Earthquakes, a former club of Head Coach Brandon McDonald.
This is the direct result of years of dedication, discipline, and daily commitment to improvement. Manu has consistently shown what it means to trust the process, embrace hard work, and push himself beyond expectations.
Now, he will have the chance to train in a professional environment, experience the standards of Major League Soccer, and test himself at the next level.
Even more exciting, this opportunity places him in front of some of the top collegiate programs in the United States. Universities such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, Saint Mary’s College of California, and the University of San Francisco are all within driving distance. College coaches actively scout environments like this.
This is how players get on the radar. This is how pathways open. This is what preparation meeting opportunity looks like.
And Manu is just the beginning.
How Did Manu Get Here?
Manu’s journey is proof that the Bali SBK methodology works. He has spent years in the full-time academy programme, training up to ten times a week, studying through Laurel Springs, participating in mental performance coaching, and committing to the daily work that development at this level demands.
Head Coach Brandon McDonald describes the Bali SBK approach is about building complete players. Not just technically sharp but tactically intelligent, physically prepared, and mentally resilient.
When a player reaches the required level, as Manu has, Bali SBK activates its network and creates real exposure opportunities with professional clubs and universities abroad. San Jose Earthquakes, an MLS club where Brandon himself once played, is the first of what we expect to be many such placements.
The Plug-and-Play System
Bali is a transient destination. Families come and go. Rather than trying to build short-term winning teams, Bali SBK made a conscious decision: focus on individual player development.
We use the plug-and-play system. Our methodology is built around what college coaches and professional clubs are actually looking for:
Tactical intelligence
Technical consistency
Physical preparation
Mental resilience
Professional habits
As Coach Brandon puts it: “Coaches can take our players and plug them in anywhere.”
We implement our training methodology and philosophy based on what is expected at the next level. When we see a player reaching that point, as we did with Manu, we begin to send them to different professional clubs in America or Europe to showcase their talents.
The Standard: A Three-Year Commitment
Development at this level does not happen overnight. It is the result of consistent work, structured guidance, and an unwavering commitment to improvement over time.
We believe that when a player commits fully to our development program for a minimum of three years, we can confidently raise our hand and say: “They are ready for the next level.”
Ready for:
NCAA Division I, II, or III pathways — college soccer scholarships in the United States
MLS academies and professional environments — training and trial opportunities with Major League Soccer clubs
Top European club academies — pathways toward first-team football in Europe
But let’s be clear: this pathway is earned. It is built through discipline, consistency, and commitment to daily work.
We will open doors. We will provide guidance. We will create exposure.
But the player must first do the work.
What This Means for Parents
Bali SBK offers a development pathway with real, verified connections to:
MLS clubs (San Jose Earthquakes and beyond)
US college coaches across Division I, II, and III
European academy networks
Manu’s selection to train with San Jose Earthquakes is the proof. He is the first, but he will not be the last.
The Current Opportunities Major League Soccer
The landscape of soccer and education in the United States is evolving rapidly, and Bali SBK is positioned to help players take advantage:
The transfer portal now allows unlimited transfers during a player’s four-year eligibility, giving student-athletes more flexibility than ever.
Players can now receive payments on top of scholarships, with top international players earning up to $50,000 per year
The MLS has expanded to 30 teams, each with reserve squads in MLS NEXT Pro, creating more professional pathways
The USL is implementing a promotion/relegation system by 2027, opening additional professional routes
These developments mean the opportunities for players developed at Bali SBK are growing, too. But access requires preparation, and preparation requires commitment.
To Our Players and Parents
If your goal is:
A college scholarship
Playing at the NCAA level
One day signing professionally
Or simply reaching your highest potential
Understand this: The pathways exist.
We believe Manu is the first of many players who will step into these opportunities.
The question is: Are you willing to commit to the process?
Congratulations, Manu!
This opportunity is well deserved and only the beginning. We cannot wait to see what comes next.
