Bali SBK Developing Multi-Sports Academy – Stay Tuned
While Bali SBK has already become a household name on the paradisiac island for its high quality of football coaching, It’s not just the team’s players who have set their sights high. Founder Brandon McDonald has big plans for SBK: A state-of-the-art multi-sports academy complete with café and live-in facilities for teen athletes. His vision is about to turn into reality, with 15 acre site right by the ocean already purchased and plans to remodel and add to existing building structures completed by an architect of international acclaim. Bali SBK may not be known beyond Southeast Asia yet, but this academy for players with aspirations is punching above its weight already. (And not just in regional tournaments.)
Meeting the ex pro player, you can’t help but be inspired. Perhaps, it is “just” his ability to focus, plan, and continue to take decisive action towards his goals, fine-tuned in his single-minded pursuit of success in professional football. Maybe it is his team player mentality and feeling for people – evident in the confidence he inspires in his players – and business. McDonald’s plans have parents, investors, and the local community all abuzz.
“We get the feedback that this is going to be amazing,” he says. “We’ve got 15 acres in a developing town, maybe city, right by the beach. We are planning to have workspace for student athletes, a café, locker rooms, gym, futsal pitch, soccer pitch and just an area for like-minded athletes to spend their time.” Attracting other sports, parents and locals to spend time in the world-class facilities is part of the plan. The site’s setting is truly inspiring: rice fields and tall trees surrounding the grassy areas for pitches, the sound of crashing waves rolling over the picturesque setting, and a sprawling building in the ocean breeze at the end of the beach road.
In a natural progression to the current facilities that McDonald’s team are already starting to outgrow, work is slated to start by mid-2025 to transform the site into a premier hub for holistic youth athlete development.
